The Government Mizo High School Alumni Association was officially founded on May 19, 2017, marking a significant milestone in the school’s history. It all began when the class of 2014, filled with nostalgia and a desire to reconnect, embarked on a mission to organize a grand reunion encompassing all former students and staff members of Government Mizo High School. This initiative was met with overwhelming support from the dedicated teachers, who shared the students’ enthusiasm for fostering enduring connections.

Eager to learn from the experiences of other schools that boasted thriving alumni communities, the class of 2014 eagerly approached the esteemed headmaster of the school, Mr. Lalrammawia. During a productive meeting, they expressed their admiration for these established alumni associations and their aspirations to create a similar network for Government Mizo High School. They highlighted the school’s unique distinction of being the first and oldest high school in Mizoram, making it all the more important to forge lasting bonds among its graduates. Encouragement and support emanated from Mr. Lalrammawia, who recognized the potential of the class of 2014 to lead the way in establishing an alumni community for Government Mizo High School.
